Kilts and Cults: The power of clanism

The feudal system of government has existed since people (or apes for that matter) banded together for security against the elements, predators and each other so it’s hardly a new thing. Arguably the only form of government that has ever been invented. It may come in more than a few brands now but it’s all the same.

It’s in the DNA of a Scotsman. “Where are you from??!!” is still a guttural term voiced by the (still) neanderthals among us. It’s pronounced “Wir ya fae??!!!” though with a nasal twang to it with the mouth barely opening as if chewing gum was a priority. Did you know every 2nd Scottish name has it’s own tartan design, still, today. It is worn with pride (and a knife in the sock) at ceremonial do’s. For those of us who understand what a black tie event means.

In a nutshell everyone is to some degree trying to say ‘My club is better than your club. So there!’

While it seems like an awfully high school teenager view on life one only has to look at the US, Russia, China and N Korea all rattling there saber’s at each other to realize this type of behaviour is not left behind at puberty. For most. Some do mature. Some don’t.

Some seem to need and WANT conflict and so join a warish cult, clan or group. Those who join the Foreign Legion are fighting to fight. With the cancellation of draft in most western countries, those who sign up for the armed services… want a clan and to fight. And they get both.

It’s the sense of belonging, defending it and being part of a CAUSE that is being fed by these warring groups. It also has a tremendous pull on a person and can certainly hold onto them after they have dedicated some time (or many years, to it). It’s an addictive thing with substance. People live for this. To belong to a cause only. I know, I’ve done it.

One thing they all have in common. It’s not easy to join. It requires dedication. Freedom and peace are the stated reasons for it’s existence when in fact the purpose is to have conflict.

Add in there the special forces and most religious movements and any extremists political party.

The bait offered is safety in numbers and what is expected is lay down your life with willing loyalty.

Another thing they insist on doing is influencing your entire life, from health to family and career to pension and how one should raise ones kids. They are by nature invariably very insidious, deceitful and proclaim to be the only true force for good.

All members of these groups as a rule have to defend the groups ideology, otherwise their own devotion and dedication is being called into question. Otherwise you’d have to disagree with your own heart. No one wears that for long.

It doesn’t matter if these groups destroy massive clumps of humanity due to an always present and pervasive higher cause.

The evil done in the name of these ‘higher’ causes is making me doubt the usefulness of such groups.

When does the good outweigh the bad? Can you tell or is your view of the ‘good’ over inflated thanks to your own groups internal propaganda?

Members are forever encouraged to reject any criticism of the group.

Failed on me though. I thought, is something being hidden here?

Made me wonder.

    1. But you can do a free blog on wordpress and kick off your start for design/blogging skills from there. I have subscribed to do a paid site and use this template of course. Quite an amateur method but I am published online obvs.

      1. Yep just blog away on wordpress or a blogging site to suit you. Shop around. Most are free. I have paid to have a website as I fancy myself making websites one day but I pay small fee every month. Choose is yours but blog away.

    1. Bud you can sign up to wordpress and blog away within 5 mins for free. Simple login procedure. No ads or catches just blog. Or do what I have done and make a site. It’s no too costly, it’s about £5/month to maintain hosting after you’ve bought your domain name.
