This is my next major project and something that has been sourly missing from my life in the last 10 years.
A disaster relief force will never go unwelcome in this world.
We live in a world of lost soldiers, warriors and charitable types that have little or no option to belong or have somewhere to bend their abilities to for a good cause.
I’ve had more than my fair share of graft being a first responder. It’s a buzz. A hit. On so many levels.
The lives I have saved I have not counted. But I remember every smile of those who sought me out to say thanks in the months to follow after they had recovered fully.
This will be a group of men and women who are either ex-military or medically trained that will go into hot spots and get the right thing done. On time and in full flight mode in a disaster zone. 16-20 hour days, for weeks. No one with dependents should sign up. Pagers will be given and when your buzzed the clocks ticking and people are dying and flights need booked, NOW!
Each responder will need to carry and know how to use vaccination jabs before the flight out. Initially this will be commercial flights but I hope to get this concern up and running enough to enlist military assistance to get our boots on the ground.
We have to be able to mobilize teams of at least 5+ within 24 hours from the call. On the ground or very nearly there for remoter locations.
This will be one of the most rapidly deplorable forces in the world and will only earn it’s own respect.
We will not beat our chests, we will roll our sleeves up and do what needs must to save lives.
We will be armed with supplies, generators as needed and life saving gear whether it be medicine, cutting tools or rock climbing equipment.
Those trained to do sea work will respond to those.
Those trained to contain a virus will respond to those.
Those trained to help with natural disasters will respond to those.
In every instance, many lives will be saved.
