Should one turn the other cheek or retaliate and if one is retaliating should one do it straight away or let it all cool and simmer and deliver revenge in a cold blooded manner?

I read Sun Tzu as a teenager during my boot camp years and training as a mission specialist. You can gut an enemy in more ways than one. Destroy them, pacify them or go around them and leave them negated (if one deems it safe to do so).

But what is the best option in the end.

Deescalation.

N Korea has in recent history got away with just pacifying the aggressor (bully – US) by giving into the demands and then carries on once the dust has settled.

I would argue one should aim for pacification and tolerance while keeping a card or two up your sleeve if dealing with hostility. If the other party/parties do not come to the table then one is in the position of needing to defend oneself.

Now man has a conundrum here. Do you just defend or try remove a threat to the species from existence. Through either annihilation by war on a country/populace or perpetrator, or getting someone sent to jail and using the courts law as a defense. Live and let live is fine. Sometimes live and make die works to.

Women tend to look to protection of their children. Men tend to look more to removing threats to survival in the world for his offspring. Men suffer from the ‘red mist’ more.

N Korean teenagers are still pissed off as half their grandparents were killed by the US carpet bombing the country in 1955.

What do you do when you live in a country where it’s government bombs it’s populace with chemical weapons from planes? (Syria 2018). It’s hardly possible to live and let live when you come home from work to find your family gassed to death by your countries leader. That’s a good way to make another terrorist/freedom fighter.

The answer lies in deescalation.

The police also need more training in this.

We do need physical security. Of course we do. There is evil in the world.

I refuse to believe the world is evil though.

Man is basically good but bad is done.

I think nation states should get very good at assassinations of ‘bad’ world leaders and reduce armies size by 99%. War is now more about information and public opinion not bullets and bombs. The warring countries should just kill each others leaders. Not march populations against populations. That’s by gone now. Let the elite kill each other if that is there wont. Let the civilian population out of it. I think the world as a population is more than sick of fighting the wars of the ‘commander in chief’. Young men can build/help as well as fight, if there is peace.

I think one should walk away from trouble on a night out.

I think if someone hurts your children in some way, bide your time and seek your own justice.

Deliver that revenge cold and enjoy it.

Anyone who does a child a disservice is evil to some degree.

A person in power who abuses it has lost their humanity.

Hate begets hate.

Tolerance begets tolerance.

It is that simple.

The rest is bullshit.
