We already have the answer. And science has proved it.
“After the Earth dies, some 5 billion years from now, after it is burnt to crisp, or even swallowed by the Sun, there will be other worlds and stars and galaxies coming into existence and they will know nothing of a place once called Earth.”
~ Carl Sagan
So what’s the point? Pray harder or support SpaceXs ambition to put humans on Mars? Of course life must go on, right?!
Not really! How may days YOU got left to go…
Life ends, where are the dinosaurs?
Family lines die out. Species die off and go extent. Life IS a fight for survival.
Here is a supposition, life is just a phenomenom we just don’t have the faintest idea about… yet.
Compare it to our understanding of matter. It started in the late 18th century with Antoine Lavoisier, who said that explaining matter in terms of fire, earth, air and water was not basic enough and insisted that matter should be broken down until it can no longer be seperated from other parts… now we have neutrinos and don’t understand what anti-matter or black energy is, but we’re certainly coming up with answers at a scary rate of knots.
What’s that been? 250 years, we’ve been seriously looking at matter and what, we’re maybe halfway there? So long as we don’t get any major twists in our discoveries, so science is getting there with dumb matter.
Ok, lets take life sciences, well we can date that back to the start of religion and I won’t join the debate on when that was, but it was more than 5000 years ago. And how are we doing so far in answering what life is?
Every religion and any spiritual pursuit and all ‘soul’ cults, put their hands up and say ‘I know, I know.’
Are any of them worthy of the claim?
Religion is a solution to the fear of death, which is an adult problem. Religious participation should be as much an, age of consent, thing as sex and drugs, it is far more potent than both.
How is a child supposed to have informed consent about a mass delusion his folks are bewitched by.
To solve the answer to life, we’re going to have to run back to science for a solution.
Or should I say, peer review research proved by thesis AND experimentation.
Einstein, Tesla and Hawkings all hinted at vibrations being the essence of thought and life, not unlike phenemonia being discovered right now in the research of quantum physics.
It is beginning to look like life is a soup bowl of thought, we’re all kinda part of it in some form or another, but the conservation of energy law may apply.
Your gonnae die, but your soul goes back into the life ‘soup bowl’ ready for the next baba or, whatever, buffalo, that needs to be born, then your injected back into the ‘live’ stream of life… and we can all let our imaginations run wild to dream up what that ends up bringing us.
BUT we do know, Einstein, Tesla and Hawking did not pay much heed to religion, but they did to the world of matter… VERY INTENSELY, all the while hinting research into a life would could bear similar breakthroughs!
Why is religious sciences not a field of research seriously funded by every government on Earth? Don’t we want to know, or we happy to leave it to dogamatic religious fanatics of money grabbing drug peddling psychariastrsits.
It is probably and the most mature, profound and scary thought we all have at some point when growing up:
“What IS life?!”
Have any of you had it answered yet?
We have to bow down in awe to the science community for what they have achieved with matter.
And ask them to answer the question, what is life.
I know we’re suppose to have 5 billion years, but a heads up from Average Joe, we ain’t waiting till then for obvious reasons…
