Only in the land of the free…

Trumpism and Scientology seem to both be in their death throws. Neither is willing to change and are both determined and failing to try twist the world into their own view of reality.

How do we combat such fanaticism…

Laugh at it. It is so absurd we have a hard time wearing the fact that droves of people submit to such ideals. At least with Scientology the ‘droves’ have turned into a trickle, the MAGA need to hurry up and catch up and fail on the doorstep of reason.

Neither have proven records of any success and both have long histories of defending themselves in court again and again and again ad infinitum…

They have defending themselves in court in common. Constantly. And blaming the other party. The words ‘witch hunt’ are often used. Also, fake news is another common rant between the two. Any criticism is obviously biased ‘from the other side’.

It is the us/them theme that sets them apart from the rest of us. WE’RE IT, YOU’RE NOT! gets us all nowhere in the end. Government is a cooperative endeavor.

These us and them cults are great avenues for fanatics, and they do attract them but is it productive overall to follow these ‘prophets’, are they even worth the effort to follow (and prop them up) cause they sure come with baggage?

The legal battles, the history of abusive behaviour, the sense of righteousness… is it all worth bearing?

It has to be. We have to tolerate such madness to be free.

The best way to deal with fanaticism is the use of reason. Ignore the extremism and insist on some middle ground.
