I used to be a Cultist but now I am an Occultist, born into Scientology I grew up under a strict ideological regime that forced me into a black/white or in/out and also a with us/against us type mind set.

This method of thinking is the mind set of a cultist. If you’re not with me, then you’re my enemy. Every religious fanatic is a cultist. Every military (or any violence) and all extreme politicians get to wear the badge of being a Cultist.

An avid supporter of a sub-culture, is a good definition for a Cultist. Adding, ‘with a black and white mentality’, wouldn’t be an unjust addition to the definition. Also unique to a Cultist is they will only adhere to one ideology. A select few may obessively switch between cults but all of them will only adhere to one set of ideas at any given time.

Occultists are followers of the occult. In any and all it’s forms. It is a very open minded approach to the spiritual world and also deals in the field of meta physics.
