Hard vs Soft Power

Inspire or enforce? How would you have your life be.

Its a two way street remember so you get it as you make it. Live by enforcement or through inspiration, what would be better for you.

Too many times I have heard ‘THEY need to be kept in line’ of late. So we are suppose to have some of us enforcing the rules and some of us obeying the rules. We make em and you follow proposition seemingly.

But when does the jailer become beholding to the jail? If you build a world full of boundaries and walls to keep the ‘they’ at bay your denying your own ultimately. There is no such thing as an us and them, in the end. We are a world of us.

L. Ron Hubbard, who while his religion might have left some controvesy in its wake, made a good point when he ‘prophesed’ that one of the hallmarks of a genius was to inspire others to follow them.

If ones hearts in the right place and the aims are for the good of all then I could think of no better way than that to live. LRH was in his own way a genius himself and certainly inspired many.

But this idea is even more basic than this. When in high school I got the donkey, stick and carrot story (or equivelant) from my teachers.

Its a truth that one with a cause is worth 100 without. To be motivated requires inspiration that there is some hope everywhere for everything.

Enforcement using violence should only ever be used for the protection from violence.

The way to lead is through inspiring others to follow.

So be it
