He wanted to tell a good fictional tale. It included religion, adventure, beating the odds underdog farm boy making the big time with romance to boot and some fancy lights and cgi. Made billions from it. Ended up with a fan based semi formal religion set up arguably in his honor, which he has participated in at arms length.

Trump took billions and used it over a lifetime to wankle through property business into TV and onto the presidency when he invoked religion in a TV moment. Rallied the troops. Proud Boys to Stand Down, Stand By.
