In this year of 2020 and a world of cults.
Some good, some bad. I’d say yeah to the Greta Thunberg cult and nay to the KKK cult.
Remeber ‘cult’ is just short for culture – or another sub-set way to imporve ones life over the given norm. It’s not a given that it’s bad.
We’ve always lived in a divided world but never one this devisive. It seems we’re being constantly forced to pick between which side of some ideological fence we choose to sit on. Like we are forbidden to live and let live but must choose who to be against.
Whether it be climate science, the US president, the middle East and now whether to abide by the lock down advice or no in our first major worldwide pandemic in a century. We’re being made to pick all the time – which side we stand on.
Which is fine to a degree until we live in a world of ideologically opposed cults, which is just fucking dangerous. You only have to look at the protesters with assault rifles standing on the steps of Capitol buildings in some US states to realize this.
Just on that. The right to protest is a given. On your States govenors door step with an assault rifle may be within the letter of law but it is far from a dose of common sense.
If it got nasty they are not sending in the police riot squad with water cannons, the officer weilding the cannon would be shot.
So, we end up with the national guard having to be called in to deal with a rioting crowd, who are weilding assault rifles and shouting about highly sensitive political issues… how long before they are labeled as insurgents or terrorists! Then what, civil war?! Again!
And to those defending their right to carry arms by carrying arms, even assault rifles – you’ve really missed the point of a tank. Which is what the national guard would use to not come arrest you but neautralize you. As a national threat! And trust me when an M-1 tank is on your drive telling you to give up the guns… you do not want to be in that position, or do you?
I never thought I would ever fancy being a banner bearer for the middle ground of ‘narmality’ in this crazy world. I have always been a fan of extreme life styles. I love how Ghandi lived and Martin Luther King. Einstein, Tesla and also Musk today are and is inspiring. It’s at the limits of science and the humanities, where we push the boundaries of what is considered normal, that we advance as a species.
But I think for the ’20s humanity needs another extreme and that is cults with an extreme dose of common sense!
Let’s start off saying Musk with Space X and Tesla motors and the Green cults are headed in the right direction. While ISIS got quite rightly bombed to fuck and the FBI comes down on the KKK and pedo rings will equal wrath. So we’re beating the right track already.
I think we should grade our world of cults into those that are pro and those that are against the species as a whole. The old 50 shades of grey business with some more white and some more black.
ISIS we could all agree is an off the mainstrem cult and bad for one and all.
Greenpeace is a cult who’s business is now pro mainsteam by all accounts albeit 3 decades ago they were referred to as eviromental terrorists and jailed for their efforts.
Both of the SASes are cults that give us a good example of civic duty roles that involve extreme life styles that we are forced to live with and would rather do without. One is the Special Air Service or that branch of the UK military that is made up of trained incursion assassins. The other is the Scottish Ambulance Service. Although we’d rather not need either of them it’s good to know they are there. Could we all agree the ambluance service is the more white cult of the two.
But you never know if the day will come when we will be invaded by aliens and we might actually need hard ass brutally trained ruthless killers to save us from extinction.
That opens the door to another group of cults – those not of this world for example those who either are or believe they have already made contact with aliens. The Raliens and Scientologists are 2 examples.
I’ll let the Flat Earth Society (cult) speak for itself.
For sure in this world of cults I am vouching for cults of common sense over an extremist point of view whether it be a beheading ISIS or expensive alien theology.
