There is no known means to cure a person from a virus. Only the immune system can defeat them, a lot can be done to help the immune system but there is currently no known means to cure a virus.

But we’ve cured HIV you might think. No we haven’t, we’ve made it possible for people to live with it. That’s not the same as a cure or getting rid of a virus.

Bacterial infections of course we treat with anti-biotics. For a virus we depend entirely on our immune systems to get rid of it.

A vaccine is a very watered down version of a virus. It is so watered down that it can not cause a full blown disease, but your system does have to fight it. Thus it builds up the defenses needed to tackle that virus.

So if you come into contact with the real deal – your body knows what’s coming and can rapidly mount a defense against the virus and prevent you from getting the disease or you experience a much easier to survive dose of it.

This is why measles and polio have been almost wiped out. Measles of course is being given an open door to come back by anti-vaxxers.

For the question about how dangerous conrona virus may or may not be vs the common flu. Some argue the common flu causes many more deaths than corona and that is true on account of the fact it is much more prevalent. For now.

Some are saying hunger and being run over is more deadly than the corona virus. Again poverty and car accidents are much more prevalent than the corona virus. For now.

Bear in mind how quickly this is spreading over the world. Dec 1, 2019 was the first instance. Within 3 months over 80,000 have it and the death toll keeps rising.

The flu is only fatal to 0.1% who catch it. Corona kills 3.5% of people who catch it. So if 100 people catch the corona virus 3-4 of them will die. The flu has to infect 1,000 people to cause a single death.

So like hunger or being run over by a car the simplest solution is prevention. Food, looking both ways and for coronavirus, a vaccine.

And trust me there are 1000s of medicos the world over right now hard at work around the clock developing that vaccine and it will be ready hopefully by the end of the year.

In the meanwhile we are sharing our world with a virus that is quite frankly the real deal scary shit. Kills 3-4 out of a hundred and is spreading like wild fire.

So until we have a vaccine the best solution right now is to contain it’s spread.

Which means a fuck of a lot more hygiene and a heck of a lot less socializing. Churches, gigs, shopping centers and sports events are going to take a massive dint in 2020. Praying ain’t going to do you too much good on it’s own.

So how does it spread?

The corona virus is spread through ingesting anothers salivia. I know that sounds gross but it’s a daily occurrence. If your sitting on a train and a person 3 seats away coughs within a min or so the air you breath will include some of their saliva. Tiny droplets of course but each drolet is big enough.

If someone sneezes in the direction of a door handle which you touch and then use that hand to put food in your mouth… same.

A wee french kiss, anyway… ingesting anothers salivia is the cause of the spread.

So until we have a vaccine, less crowds and more cleaning. If you have access to disinfectant the cleaning is ten times more effective. Cleaning without disinfectant will rid a surface of the virus. Using deinfectant means any virus particles hitting that surface afterwards will also be killed immediately. But it’s a daily chore to maintain a high level of defense.

This is perhaps the most vital piece of advice right here – everytime you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with cloth, then wash your hands and the cloth you coughed or sneezed into and also the tap you used to wash your hands and cloth.

Right now would be a good time to have a taint of OCD.

But also bear in mind that corona right now is ‘only’ an outbreak. It’s not pandemic (every major population zone).

The last pandemic was in 1918 and killed 50 million people while the population of the world was only 1.5 billion. So 1 in every 30 people died. Which means everyone lost someone they knew to that pandemic.

Ironically at the same time… WWI, the deadlist conflict in mankinds history killed less than half that at 21 million.

So let’s try bury the sense of ‘fake news’ and it’s a ‘democractic alarmist hoax’ to slow the stock market.

It’d be really really smart of us to keep this at the level of outbreak and not have it go pandemic.

Fuck the stock market. Trust me, this baby does not check your bank balance before it infects you.
