Is exemplified perfectly by the current Church of Scientology who in fact goose marched into their equivalent of Mecca in Clearwater Florida when they arrived in the 70s.

Hubbard started a self help fab with Dianetics on the 9th of May 1950. This was turned into a religion with his discovery or more accurately paraphrasing of psychology and calling it the religion now known as Scientology in 1951.

He registered Scientology as a trademark even though it is paraphrased psychology.

The new ‘religion’ expanded during the 50s and 60s quite well.

In 1967 Hubbard brainchilded his cult with a policy directive known as Keeping Scientology Working Series 1.

In it Hubbard blames many of the organisations earlier failures on the managers at the time. Saying no one could in effect train people in his technique unless they followed him very very exactly.

So a cult was born.

He followed this policy directive with the establishment of HCOs worldwide and the infamous ethics tech.

Including the PTS/SP technology and the advent of disconnection becoming official ‘church’ policy.

So after the 3rd reich was defeated in 1945. Unbeknownst to one and all Hubbard was building it echo under everyones nose calling it a religion.

Of course some were on to him.

Law enforcement agencies and press were closing in on him. Than answer? So the icing on the cake for Hubbard – take to the his sea’s.

Where else better to play god than with your own small flotilla of a handful of yatchs sailing around the Mediterranean.

Which is exactly what Hubbard did.

He spent the next 5 years establishing the Sea Org with his devoted members being put through brutal regimes.
