Happy New Year and good bye to the Teens decade… what the fuck was all that about.
But we’re here. 20 years into the next 100 from 2000 and many would argue we are now in the future.
The world as was imagined before the 1980s. (I preferred it when I never had to use the 19 in 1980s). But we now live in the world where everything is electronically connected and controlled and rockets that come back and land.
So whats humanity up to not it has achieved this massive state of ‘enlightenment’…
It’s not all bad. Most of the ‘Old Guard’ of course are still at large and hardly just hanging in there but the tides are changing.
The ‘masses’, thanks to the internet has quite frankly grown some balls and more than a few teeth.
That we close out the 2nd decade of this millenia with Greta Thurnberg getting the Times Personality of the Year instead of some wanton reality TV show type ‘statesman’ is some good sign.
That climate change is now being confronted. That space is no longer just the purview of governments. That we can now whip out our phones and record any official in any situation –
The people have gotten a voice. The net.
It’s causing problems. We have some re-adjusting to do.
I am preparing for a Butlerian Jihad in case it comes to that in the 20s. That’s more likely to be needed than a defense from the Zombie rising.
Time will tell.
