I’ve now decided to identify with being a sexless alien. O wait I do not have to, I was born one (Scientology) and you have to respect that as religious belief now nevermind agreeing with my sexual orientation.
Found out the parents would prefer me dead. Sigh, really.
One for not believing in Scientologies ‘tech’ enough and the other for not speaking out against my experiences in Scientology is reason enough for him to run for the cover of ‘reasons’/excuses to also cut me off and wish my demise.
I’m of course not alone both this mother dear and dad dear would like my older brother Tony to just not be there either. He’s special needs/disabled, need 24/7 care and, anyway the rest is a story that strechtes over 4 decades not the last. It’d be better in their mind if we just weren’t.
Lost my daughter through deciding to not team with the alien believers (Scn) and the alien believer exposers (anti-Scn) and my ex gf (scorned Catholic) going in cahoots with them, to decide I am the bad guy. For not being their version of a fanatic… alien believing, not being an alien believer or not being entirely (Catholic) normal.
All dogmatic.
I’m of the liberal/artist/bohemian ilk.
Bit hard maintaining a civil relationship with ones adolescent daughter when her mum and both your folks are gunning against you in that debate. When the courts and social services are not obliged to step in due to it being under the banner of ‘religious practice’ makes being shunned none the easier.
Of course my darling dear daughter has been encouraged to join the RAF and she’s met the Queen already. Considers herself quite the thing as she should being 18 going on 10 (still the wee world saviour warrior though of a 10 year old. Like our folks think they are so I wont hold it against her).
I question parents who encourage their child to be involved in any conflict.
But that’s it isn’t it. We now all have to identify with and associate/join with our ‘equals’, we all must have an idea of what an equal is to us. So what does that say for those we consider to be not our equal?
It’s the danger of populaists time and I have only to point out the 1930s and 40s to highlight where that ultimately ends ups. Do we have concentration camps all too commonly cropping up in the west now?
The teens decade has shown what it means. One apparently does not need to extend compassion to those who one considers to not be a peer or worse does not consider them even a equal.
While the world seems to be becoming more liberated and I have a kinderd soul it seems we all still have some baggage of guilt to carry.
From both Scn and the Catholics ilk. I thought this was the free will of the 60s writ large. But…
It’s a facade. We’re entering into an age of limit the fuck out of private automous life at a scary rate. Talking to old (literally now) pals about the 80s – common cant – we got away with SO MUCH!
No CCTV, webcams, cam phones. Now we’re all being watched… all the time. George Orwell worried about 1984. He should have aimed a tad higher but he was spot on! Right down to the divide/conquer the populace among themselves.
The next decade will see AI and computerized machinery take over another massive chunk of our lives.
Already from our shopping checkout operator to medical diagnoses to autonomous driving vehicles, we have already surrendered massive parts of our lives to machines.
The Teen years seen us give up too much to the computer operated machines and AI already in my mind.
At a personally level it’s been a path of self discovery and I must thank all my family and friends of old for standing by me in every way they could. With religion being the biggest casualty in my heart.
We might all have a love/hate relationship with religions. When in one, towards the beliefs of others for some religionists specifically and more in general from atheists to religionsists as a whole.
But bear in mind we might well need a Butlerian Jihad in the next decade and a way to get off Earth, so lets keep them fanatics about for a bit longer just yet. It includes the mad scientists and artists.
Imagine all religious forces joining to smash thinking machines out of existence? Backed by science and not only the drumming of the arts but the will of the mere ‘commoners’.
The fanatic pool includes the geniuses.
And we need better leadership.
Here’s to the 2020s.
Wikipedia page on: The Butlerian_Jihad
The Butlerian Jihad is an event in the back-story of Frank Herbert‘s fictional Dune universe. Occurring over 10,000 years before the events chronicled in his 1965 novel Dune, this jihad leads to the outlawing of certain technologies, primarily “thinking machines,” a collective term for computers and artificial intelligence of any kind. This prohibition is a key influence on the nature of Herbert’s fictional setting.[1]
To Scientology: If you were only kidding I will have my £80k back. And for a gift to man – you come with some price tag for a ‘technology’ that has been revised and released again in every decade it has existed.
To Rhoda: If you were only kidding tell Georgi the truth.
To Alex: If you were only kidding you have to live with that acht but your dying of cancer, enjoy your funeral, I’ll be ‘too busy’ on the t day.
To Georgi: Doors always open sweet heart no matter what version of you, you turn out to be. We agree on that, the power of individual choice. But we differ in our prejudices now. You aspire to them and I do not. And Clan Jackson now has a dog if you ever want to meet him, he’s called Benjii.
