It’s gonnae get ugly.

I’m going to argue that the internet and then wifi and then AI is on a par with discovering fire, the advance of science and the industrial revolution.

The biggest difference in being in control of fire of not in ancient history, we had the onset of science really forever of course but it is on record from approx 5000 years ago and the industrial revolution is now quietly underway but really exploded in the living memory of some few.

But the digital evolution is a whole different bag of balls on a field with no sound rules and a human populace to deal with, use or even abuse.

Before your blink, who delivers your weekly shop from your local superstore and how is your account maintained? AI! Our lives are now run by robot decisions.

They are being empowered to make choice on a best guess for us… in full say control of said delivery drivers and and and you quickly end up in the land of the conspiracy theorist as if push came to shove we would go to Tesco and just buy said products. Human are not that fragile.

But the fact remains, we are forever giving over more control of our lives to more robots and giving them more say. We now have meet and greet AI ‘nurses’ on a video screen meeting patients into A&E departments! It’s not going to change as a curve going forward, precise intrusive operations in brain surgery are now being carried out by robots, for precision sake.

Thankfully as they can be more precise than human on a number of orders of magnitude but guess what? They are backed up by AI assessment and store files of the op on more than a couple of back-up safety drives.

Easily accessible if your an AI ‘bot’ Software or hardware.

With the advent of more smart tech or ‘AI’. Or the advent of more AI and ‘smart tech’. However you look at it, it is a reality. We are plugging into computers more and more. ‘Self’ (AI) driven vehicles are coming online.

So where do we draw the line before it’s a fight for survival between the ‘bots’ vs the ‘norms’.

We are now in that time period the films the Matrix and Terminator warned of us. Gen X! It’s on us to have the foresight to work this shit out.
