It’s a unique trait this being mean business.

There’s being mischivous, a wicked sense of humour and being mean who are all close cousins of the bully.

But being mean goes beyond the bully. It’s when you do not have to be bad to a person but do from own self gratification. It’s a key element for survival for cowards who need to know they can be mean without being punished.

It why ‘prohpets’ start religions and why dictators take over countries and even why abusive men run abusive house holds. Unfornately it makes the victims just as messed up as the perpetrators. It seems to have a dose of if you can’t beat them join them – or bring them down to your level, as is the case with a bully.

People who need gratification from abusing others has their own issue to deal with. It’s worse than being less than human.

I’ve met more than a few dangerous animals, the odd michievous cat and dog but I have never met or heard of an animal being mean.
