Disaster Relief Force Plan

Disaster Relief Force

Ideal scene:

A group that can deploy to nearly anywhere in the world within 24hrs of a disaster with the means to do the right thing. Governed by a rule of ethics that ensures integrity and human decency in not only it’s mission but also it’s management. This is to be a non-profit charity with staff wages being less than 1.5 of the minimum wage, even for it’s directors.

At least 85% of monies raised must go to missions. 15% can be allocated for management/organizational expenses.

Purpose:

To assist in all disasters that we can deliver support in, either directly to victims or to give support to first responders already on site.

Be ready to give follow up support as needed to any people displaced.

Major Targets:

Get Established with all legal rudiments in place.

Build up a core team and get them the needed specialist training.

Make a web/social media presence to garner support.

Finalize a charter and mission statement.

Program:

  1. Register it as a charity.
  2. Set up a facebook page
  3. Start fund raising
  4. Design a uniform.
  5. Do a photo shoot
  6. Write a charter
  7. Assign a treasurer
  8. Get the crew trained and mission ready.
  9. Organize training refesher weekends for missionaries.
  10. Source medical and engineer personnel who could at least consult if not directly respond.
  11. Establish effective comms solutions for all eventualities including wifi.
  12. Source vital equipment and organize secure storage.

I would like to establish a collective of like minded people who honestly believe in the sincerity of humanity and believe all life is priceless. It’s an easy cause for one and all to get behind in this day and age. A like, a share, a vocal support, donation or your time as a volunteer.

I think we should class our first responder team members as Rangers. They may be a ‘dull’ office worker when not on mission but as they say, you can take the man out of a fight but not the fight out of a man. These responders will be and always are hardy stuff, good to have around in a tough spot. And trained.

I think we should class the back lines support workers as hero’s. Without them the machine would not work. They’re the unsung hero’s who never quite make it to the kodak moment. But without them the ship would sink.

Initially regular meetings could be held at my house in S Queensferry and people from the world over could join in via net chat. Fund raising could be gotten underway and the clock is ticking to be ready for the next big disaster to effect man. Of course there are 1000s already in place that could do with being addressed.
