I’ve seen enough of it to get the gist of people. People want authority over others. It makes sense for the insecure. If their minions or others don’t obey then they condemn them or bomb/shoot them and somehow try conquer their minds in the end.
Call it what you like, war, national security, jihadists, freedom fighters, crusaders, knights templars, war hero, rebels, insurgents, spy or traitor/defector, heretic.
To me the label is neither here nor there. It’s an excuse for violence and a justification to kill and ‘excuse’ collateral damage.
Do you know apostasy still carries the death penalty in some countries and soldiers can still be killed or severely punished for being disobedient.
There is another level here. It ties into the 10 year old childhood warrior mentality a bit too nicely for me and seems to bring with it some sense of abandon to the notion of common sense. Some would argue it’s not that simple.
I’d argue, WHY NOT?!
As soon as someone says it’s not that simple, I think, your bringing up excuses to make it more complicated.
Ok at 10 life is perhaps still oversimplified but it does leave one with some sense of purpose that can be easily re-awakened and triggered, by religious or military experiences. Less so with politics and business but it is still there.
This is the age our ego starts to adult if you will and starts to go from being a child to hold on I’ll be an adult soon and the mind starts to adjust to this. It is a pivotal moment in the development in the vast majority of us.
Some like myself never had a care free child hood. By care free I mean threats to survival not annoyances.
Military’s and religions abuse this factor in our psyche.
To there eventual determent. They just haven’t noticed yet.
Most amred services personnel and religionists notice in the end that the leaders act like 10 year olds. They often dress up in self importance fancy dress and have to think if your not in my club your not my friend so therefore…Or become a leader and act like a bairn to the end.
And expect too much authority over their minions.
