Reactive Thought Vs Analytical Thought

May 7, 2020

Very easy to distinguish with one exception.

Analytical thought could also be called considered. It what we decide to do once we’ve weighed up the pros and cons. Tends to be most closely oberserved in who we want to spend the rest of lives with or what career to embark on.

Reactive thought is there to save our lives but really for the most part now gets in our way. So if you find yourself crossing a road with a truck bearing down on you that you’ve failed to notice somehow then you have to react seemingly without time for thought. Same with being assaulted by another physically – you have to respond for the sake of your life and time does not offer itself up to consider much in the way of options. But generally the reactive mind now causes more issues with an upset spouse or a bender fender from a land change accident.

So pros and cons to both and a little room for some middle ground with a notiable difference in how we respond thanks to – training.

Here’s you emergency services worker, first responder and disaster reposonse engineer. They act reactively with a considered response thanks to not only training but also experience. They’ve considered all all before in as many foreseeable potentials as possible. So much so that current events match those of training scenario enough to make a marked difference.

There are a plenthora of examples also of parents doing this, which gives weight to the power of instinct in us all. Some come without of course.

Bouts of considered reactive thought are sustainable but it is not easy. The duress needed can be self-inflicted but it is dangerous without fine management.

Cheers.
